Dokuz Eylül University (DEÜ), a respected institution in the scientific world, successfully conducts its teaching and research activities with its qualified and strong infrastructure, and meticulously fulfills its public responsibilities. Adopting the principle of protecting, preserving, and transmitting national and spiritual values ​​to future generations, DEÜ opened the DEÜ Flag Studies and Turkish Flags Museum, Turkey’s first national flag museum, on September 9, 2020, the anniversary of the liberation of İzmir, with the presence of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şentop.

Located in the historic Eylül Köşk (Eylül Mansion) on the university’s Dokuzçeşmeler Campus, the museum serves visitors in five separate halls, exhibiting flags and symbols of Turkish states and world civilizations, including rare pieces from the collection of the esteemed donor, Mr. Halûk Perk. The museum also includes an archive section for documenting and preserving the past, and a children’s workshop to allow children to spend time in the museum.
