We, as the psychological counseling and guidance unit within the Medico Social Services Unit (MEDIKO) of Dokuz Eylül University Health, Culture and Sports Department, provide psychological support to our students and staff.

Our aim

Psychological counseling and guidance services are provided to our students to help them adapt to university life and to help them develop emotionally, socially, cognitively and career development.

Our Principles

• Confidentiality: Confidentiality applies in all PDR services in accordance with ethical rules. Personal information of the applicant students is never shared with any person, unit or institution without their consent or knowledge (except for the possibility of harm to themselves or their environment and legal obligations).
• Unconditional Acceptance and Respect: Respect for personal differences is essential. Regardless of their beliefs, values and characteristics, students are individuals worthy of respect at all times and under all circumstances.
• Transparency: Issues and problems related to clients are handled sincerely, and importance is attached to the realistic and honest expression of feelings and thoughts on the relevant subject.
• Competence: Our specialists are professionals who have received the necessary education and degrees in their fields, attach importance to scientific and ethical priorities, continue to improve themselves, and carry out their activities in professional supervision and solidarity.
• Timing: It is important to be on time for your appointment. In case of absence, it is necessary to notify at least one day in advance.
